MedCan Trend Report 2026 – an Overview
The Trend Report 2026 reveals a clear societal paradox: although medical cannabis is now widely accepted among the German population, many patients still hide their therapy due to fear of stigma. Data from more than 7,000 MCOS patients and a representative YouGov survey show strong medical effectiveness — especially for sleep disorders, pain, and the reduction of conventional pharmaceuticals — yet a deeply rooted experience of prejudice persists in everyday life, in GP practices, and at the workplace. This stigma leads to risky concealment, which can negatively affect medical care and drug safety.

Increase Acceptance, Minizing Stigmata
To increase acceptance of medical cannabis, we need to treat it with the same pharmaceutical rigor patients already expect from conventional therapies. Platforms like ingredientpharm’s formulation system play a decisive role: by transforming cannabinoids into precisely dosed, stable, and clinically familiar dosage forms—granules, pellets, oils, modified‑release formats—medical cannabis becomes recognizably “medicine” rather than a stigmatized plant. This shift toward standardized, reproducible, GMP‑aligned formulations helps clinicians feel confident prescribing, and helps patients feel safe disclosing their therapy.

Expert’s opinion
The MedCan Trend Report 2026 reveals a striking paradox: medical cannabis is widely accepted yet deeply stigmatized. Despite proven therapeutic benefits—especially for pain and sleep—many patients conceal their treatment out of fear of judgment. This hidden stigma undermines transparency and patient safety, demanding a cultural shift toward informed, stigma‑free healthcare.
